WHO WE ARE

Since 2011, PiFò Haiti has been passionate about the different way we look at  "charity" work. Our goal is to establish relationships and work together as equals, focussing on capacity and not poverty. At PiFò Haiti our greatest desire is to exist in a Jesus-centred community by loving our neighbours responsibly.

Wendy Thiessen is a full-time volunteer serving as director of PiFò Haiti. She has been serving alongside the people of La Gonâve since 2011. Wendy is very passionate about empowering families and supporting the local economy through in-country purchasing. The mission of her work is creating a ministry of equals, not one of "rich vs poor". Wendy lives with her husband Ken in Burlington, Ontario. They have 2 amazing adult children, Hunter and Katie and 2 awesome "bonus kids", Sophie and Gabriel.

Christine Micules is a volunteer joining PiFò Haiti in 2018 when she visited La Gonâve on a Project Discovery Trip with her church. This life-changing trip instilled a passion that motivated her to advocate for the projects and people of PiFò Haiti.  Christine has always been an advocate of sharing resources in her community through various initiatives. A nurse by trade, Christine and her husband Cam have 3 children and also live in Burlington.
